Event Report: We started walking from the Koetong trestle Bridge. Walked along the rail trail past the previous Koetong station, opened in 1916. The Rail Trail then crossed the main road. We had a group of 6 walkers and 3 dogs who all enjoyed walking in the cool winter weather. We crossed the historical trestle bridge open to the public and then walked alongside another 2 trestle bridges, one was closed, another a bit slippery to walk on. After morning tea stop the rail trail continued through pretty bushland on either side of the track, past a running creek, and we walked on the grassy flat track. We saw a deer, the dogs were well behaved and did not go chasing after it. We arrived at Shelley station at 1pm having enjoyed some sunshine and good walking weather, despite the forecast rain which was still to come. We enjoyed our lunch, then headed for home. Thanks for an enjoyable days walk everyone.
